“In Sickness and in Health…”

I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change logo

“… to love and to cherish; from this day forward until death do us part.”

Everybody looks for someone to love and someone who will love them back. OK, at least most of us. The search may be tiresome, and sometimes it is rewarding, though sometimes it becomes a long string of trial-and-error. But even when you find that person, even after you say your wedding vows, is it the end of it? This thing called love, is it really a happily-ever-after type of story or a constantly bumpy ride? What does it take to keep the promise of loving the same person forever? Because after all, forever is a REALLY long, long time.

The next musical production by Thespian Anonymous I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change is a comedy that brings the course of romantic relationships into spotlight with stories of less than perfect men and women, couples, parents, kids, in-laws. The stories and characters are of course made up, and exaggerated at times, but I personally feel this is no fiction – there is something quite honest and real about each character. I think anyone who has at least made some kind of attempt at having a relationship at some point in their lives will find a thing or two that they can relate to. Perhaps that’s why I still giggle when I listen to some of the songs for the gazillionth time.

The play is written as a series of sketches rather than a story that develops around certain main characters, which, from a fresh director’s point of view, might make life easier or harder: Each scene can be taken up as an individual project without having to cling it to the other scenes, which gives the director some flexibility. On the other hand it also means many characters interpreted by the same actors and I need to keep a tab on them all. It will be interesting to find out how the challenges will develop during rehearsals.

As an audience member, you will be able to enjoy this musical in early spring 2013, but if you are interested in taking part as singer/actor, mark your calendar for the auditions.

We are also looking for a pianist for this production. If you are up for it, contact us by writing directly to:

      Hi Brie,

thanks for you reply! I’m afraid the cast for the musical has already been chosen, but if you’re interested in back-stage work as well, help will be greatly appreciated 🙂
